Tender Beginnings
I started my first journal when I was in 3rd grade shortly after my family moved to another state; I needed a way to cope with all the change. I was born with great expectations and writing is my way of expressing my biggest dreams and overcoming my biggest hurdles in a safe place. Ironically, within the binding of these pages I am free to unleash my joys, pains, and creativity without any boundaries. Librarians have a terminology to describe this releasing of the binding…. it is called TENDER. Imagine that!!! By embracing life: the good, the bad, and all the in between tenderness is manifested. The very definition of the word means gentleness and kindness, deep affection and devotion, sensitivity to pain. I think that world could all use a little bit more of this. As I begin to journal life out loud and share stories of humanity, it is my hope that it would release in you tenderness and genuine love for those around you.
